As a girl, my parents would leave the front door open and the porch light on during storms. Our street would flood horribly, but because of the way it was built no one could tell the depth of the water. More than once my sisters and I would help people out of their cars as water came flooding in through their windows and doors. Anyone who needed help had refuge at our home.
I can’t open my home to everyone hurt or displaced yesterday, but I have donated to help run the shelters and food banks. Every bit helps.
P.S. We were very very lucky. I, my family, friends, and even the TTC studio are safe.
