Do you have any advice for a noob? I'm going to start my first corset this week :x

Going from the mistakes I made my first time, label all of your pieces! I picked a lot of seams my first time, and sewed at least one piece upside down.

Also, it’s a lot simpler if you use an easier fabric to work with. I made my first corset from cotton velvet, and it crawled around in my machine until I wanted to pull my hair out. My second corset was made from a cotton jacquard, and was SO MUCH easier.

If you have any questions while making it, feel free to ask. I’d love to help!

Vintage Patterns

Vintage patterns from the Tailor of Two Cities collection.
When I was young I inherited an entire collection of patterns from my Grandmother, who had been sewing all her life.  The patterns spanned several decades, and were all carefully saved, even the ones that had been cut.
Since then I’ve had a love of patterns, especially vintage ones, and have collected all of them I have run across.  Garage sales and estate sales have been my main source,

Too Cute

Sewing.  Magic to the untrained eye.
